Part-time employment contract postponing the effective age of retirement

With the Ministerial Decree of 13th April 2015, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in agreement with the Ministry of Economy, provided some clarifications on the worker's possibility to transform employment from full time to part-time near retirement age.


This measure allows employees of the private sector to transform employment from full-time to part time with the reduction of working hours to an extent of between 40 and 60%, with monthly payments by the employer of a sum equal to the retirement pension purposes contribution paid by the employer on the job performance not carried out and with recognition of figurative contribution commensurate with the remuneration corresponding to the work performance not carried out on account of the facilitated part-time contract.
